The Importance of Real Estate Agents in Finding a Home
C.A.R.’s recent Annual Housing Market Survey asks California REALTORS® about their last closed transaction.
• In 2011, home buyers saw a median of 12 homes in during their home search, which was down from previous years. The reason for the drop may well be because buyers and their agents are utilizing the internet to weed out the fray and thus increasing efficiency and time for all parties in the home buying process. Another reason may be lack of inventory in the last year, causing much grief among home buyers and their agents alike.
• But even more interesting, only 13 percent said they found the home the purchased online. Which begs the question, how did recent buyers find their home?
• Enter – the REALTOR®: The vast majority, 8 in 10 home buyers, said their real estate agent found them the home they ultimately purchased. In other words, home buyers and sellers may do much activity and research online nowadays. But the real estate agent is crucial and integral in helping home buyers find and ultimately purchase the home of their dreams.
